LISE LEINO
BEHIND THE LENS
Lise Leino was born in Helsinki, Finland but has lived over 20 years in the UK and also spent a year in Western Australia. She is currently based in London.
Whilst working on various TV and film sets, like TFI Friday as a camera assistant combined with her drama studies she developed her passion for still photography in particularly capturing people. She won a photography competition at The Art Gallery of Western Australia in 2013 that flew her to New York and MoMA and it was then she decided to focus on photography.
Lise has exhibited in Bristol and across South Devon. Her pictures are regularly chosen for the BBC website and the image 'Mila's favourite shoes' was chosen as one of the 2013 BBC pictures of the year. She also won 1st joint prize for her image at the Women in Photography in the South West exhibition and was published in The Herald and The West magazine. Lise is a graduate of The New York Institute of Photography.
Her aim is to capture the beauty, strength and spirit in people and most importantly the moment.
